High Tech Architecture

The reason why I started looking into High Tech Architecture was because of the appearance that our instrument gained throughout the experimentation process – plastic with bright colours, a lot of wiring visible on the outside, transparent box that showed the inside of a motherboard we used to program for switch.
All those characteristics are very similar to those of High Tech Architecture that can also be called Structural Expressionism - incorporation of high-tech industry and technology into building design.
High-tech was a way of delegating the aesthetics of architecture to its engineering and avoiding difficult questions of style, appearance, history of context. It can also be seen like a British response to crisis in late Modernism, combining elements of Victorian industrial nostalgia, Meccano, sci-fi, steampunk and the fetishing of the machine.
